My name is Megan Dobson, aka the Bridge Troll Matron of Dishonor, and I am running for the position of North Texas Area Rep.
I've been a CMA member since the Rec Plant days, and in the last three years I've found myself called to become more deeply involved in the organization. In that time, I've become a...persistent? loud?...let's say "constant and enthusiastic" presence on the Troll Bridge. I created the Troll Tag program for Beltane '07, which was eagerly received by the membership. Since the inception of the Troll Tags, the trolls (and attending members, of course!) have raised well over $6,500 for the Spirit Haven Land Fund, setting new bridge fundraising records at nearly every event. The money raised has allowed CMA to purchase much-needed maintenance equipment and building supplies and to make progress on paying down the principle on the mortgage for the land.
My time on the bridge has shown me how much can be accomplished when we can find a way to creatively engage the membership. I'd like to bring that perspective to our North Texas members.
